By default, a Juniper EX3300-24T is configured with xe-0/1/2 and xe-0/1/3 set as virtual chassis (VC) uplinks. They cannot be used as regular interfaces until they have been removed from the VC.

To identify the VC ports, do the following:

root@EX3300> show virtual-chassis vc-port
fpc0:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Interface Type Trunk Status Speed Neighbor
or ID (mbps) ID Interface
PIC / Port
1/3 Configured Absent
1/2 Configured Absent

To remove the VC ports, do the following for each port:

root@EX3300> request virtual-chassis vc-port delete pic-slot 1 port 2

Once both ports have been removed, the list will be empty:

root@EX3300> show virtual-chassis vc-port
fpc0:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
